Collection Historical Note

The first Methodist church was organised at the school house in 1842. Prior to 1842, Methodist sermons have been going on in Lyme around 1789, though it is not on record what part of the town this occurred. In 1831, the church was included in the Hebron Circuit. By 1843, a house of worship was erected and dedicated.
