Title: CT - Staffordville - Staffordville Methodist, 1859-1906

Administrative/Biographical History
Around 1847, the first meetings were held byb faithful Wesleyan Methodists, in a public school building. In 1851, when the society could no longer support a minister, irregular preaching services were held for a duration of nine years. Meetings were sometimes held in the homes of members.
Some members of Methodist Episcopal Church members moved into Staffordville and an ecclesiastical society was formed in 1858. In 1866, while the house of worship was being built, the parsonage was used for services. Between 1891-1895, the house of worship was completed and dedicated.
