There is no record highlighting when Methodist meetings commenced. But before 1826, a class was formed and meetings were held in homes of some members. In 1826 the church became part of Manchester circuit. The house of worship was built in 1828, but due to disputes it was closed in 1859. It was later reopened in 1869. Author: Uchenna Joan Awa
