The First society was organised in 1953. After the Civil war, the church witnessed a growth and the need arose to build a new church. In 1873, the Methodist Episcopal was built, but it was raised down in 1954. The building was reconstructed in 1960. It was formally known as East Lyme Congregational Church, then Niantic Methodist Church and finally called Niantic Community Church. Author: Uchenna Joan Awa
