Collection Historical Note
In 1822, the first Methodist society was organised. For many years, church services were held in school houses, barns and in the open air.
In 1833, both the Methodist and Baptist churches united and built a meeting house. It was originally dedicated as the Union Church. the Methodist church took it over in 1840 when the Baptist church built their own.
Due to increase in membership, a new building was built and dedicated in January 1990.
