Collection Historical Note
The first Methodist preaching was in 1853. Services commenced in 1856. In 1858 the first Methodist church was organized. In August of the same year, Webster Avenue was purchased and by 1859 the church building was completed and dedicated.The church later erected the present building on Bow Street and dedicated it in 1875.
