Collection Historical Note
Many years ago a small band of Christians decided that wanted to hear the Word of God in their language. In 1907, the Portuguese Evangelical Methodist Church was built. For 17 years services were held at the homes of the parishioners. In 1924, the Cordage Chapel in the North Plymouth was made available. Although the Cordage Chapel was available, Sunday evening services and Sunday school classes were still held in the home of the pastor. In 1929, the church was built and dedicated. It was in1960 that the church was known as the North Methodist Church.
