Administrative/Biographical History
Between 1867-1868, the members of the First Methodist Episcopal Church organized the Sunday school. The first meetings were held in a chapel on Tuffs Street. A temporary Methodist organization was formed because they were withdrawing from the parent church. In 1871, the new Flint chapel was erected and dedicated. The church later in 1873 birthed Broadway Methodist Episcopal Church.
In 1881, the church building was sold to Free Will Baptist Society and services was moved to Broadway until the church's edifice was built and dedicated in1882.
